Daniel is assistant professor (W2) at Technical University of Munich, Klinikum rechts der Isar and head of the HEX Lab. Before, he was Junior Professor (W1) at Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU). Prior to his appointments, he was senior research scientist of Prof. Nassir Navab the Chair for Computer Aided Medical Procedures and Augmented Reality, Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany. He received his doctoral degree in Computer Science in 2019 from the University of Würzburg (HCI Group) supervised by Prof. Marc Erich Latoschik. His thesis focused on intrapersonal, interpersonal, and hybrid aspects of virtual reality. He received his Engineering Masters degree in Media- and Imaging Technology from the University of Applied Sciences Cologne (TH Köln).
