HEX @ Girlsday 2026

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of curious and motivated students to the HEX Lab at the Technical University of Munich and TUM University Hospital for Girls’ Day. Together, we explored how computer science is shaping the future of healthcare—bridging the gap between real operating rooms and immersive virtual environments.
🔬 What we did:
- Introduced the fundamentals of Virtual Reality
- Gave participants hands-on experience in a virtual operating room
- Guided them in programming and adapting their own virtual OR scenarios
- Shared insights into working at the intersection of computer science and healthcare
💬 The energy, curiosity, and thoughtful questions from the participants made this day truly special. Seeing the next generation engage with XR, human-centered computing, and medical innovation is exactly why we do what we do. 🚀 A big thank you to everyone who joined us, we hope this offered an inspiring glimpse into the world of research and technology.
