HEX (TUM) x Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (TUM) heading to ISPRS congress

We are excited to share that our paper “Supercharging Thermal Gaussian Splatting with Depth Estimation” has been accepted to the ISPRS Archives and selected for an oral presentation at the ISPRS Congress 2026 in Toronto. The work pushes thermal 3D reconstruction forward by combining thermal Gaussian Splatting with learned depth estimation, yielding sharper and more reliable thermal scene representations. Manoj Biswanath from the Chair of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing will present the work in Toronto. The paper is a joint effort with Chenxin Cai, Hannah Schieber, Daniel Roth, and Benjamin Busam, bridging thermal imaging, depth, and modern radiance-field rendering.
